Gear Lust: Adam S3A Monitors

Oh man. If I'm listening to audio and uncontrollably gripping my hair and yelling occasionally that means something great is happening. Our new main monitors, the Adam S3As are heads and tails above any speaker I've heard aside from the $20,000+ rigs I've checked out in a few mastering studios. Anyone who wants to come check out the engrossing soundstaging and unforgiving clarity and response please stop on down, I'll be there being a geek. Prepare for some crucial mixing, incoming clients...

Don’t buy these speakers. ADAM speakers fail miserably.

Literally or figuratively? If we’re talking literally, we purchased these used back in 2009, and haven’t had a single issue with them. Figuratively, we disagree: in a properly treated room, they’ve performed admirably. We’re very pleased with how our mixes translate to other systems, and they’re a pleasure to work with.

What has your experience been that’s been so negative that you’d find a random recording studio’s website and comment on a post almost two years old?
